About Gunder Shorack

Roger L. Gunder, Ph.D., M.S., LMFT

Dr. Gunder is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Clinical/Forensic Sexologist. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, adults and couples. In addition, he has provided evaluation, treatment, consultation and educational services regarding sexual behavior problems and unusual sexual interests, as well as sexual victimization and sexual dysfunction for more than 23 years.

A former teacher and probation officer, Dr. Gunder earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology in 1977. He relocated to Florida in 1983, and while providing mental health services to inmates in a correctional facility he began working with The Sexual Abuse Treatment Program (now known as The Family Alliance) in Fort Myers, Florida where he also received training in family systems and marriage and family therapy. Dr. Gunder opened an independent practice in 1988.

Roger earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Human Sexuality in 1998. Dr. Gunder has been a clinical member of The Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers since 1988, and he was the founding president and a member of the board of directors of the Florida Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (FATSA). He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Sexology.

Mary C. Shorack, M.A., LMFT

Ms. Shorack holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Master of Arts in Counseling. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Sexology.

After completing graduate school Ms. Shorack worked with sexually abused children and their families at The Sexual Abuse Treatment Program (now known as The Family Alliance) in Fort Myers, Florida. She also received post-graduate training in family systems and marriage and family therapy.

Mary has been in private practice since 1989 with specialties in marital and couple therapy, children and adolescents with behavioral problems, sexual victimization, sexual dysfunction and trauma recovery. In addition, she has provided consultation and educational services concerning sexual victimization, and childhood and adolescent sexual behavior problems for more than 23 years.
